GROOM SPENTNIGHT IN JAILAN ILLINOIS COUPLE MARRIED IN HANNIBAL AND GROOM ARRESTED FOR BEING- DRUNK.Bride Claims. He Was Drugged andRobbed.. Ed Fisher, who gave his place of residence as Hull, II!., was arrested by Officers Ham and Turner last night on a charge of drunkenness, says this morning’s Hannibal Journal.Fisher and a young lady of the 'sameplace arrived in the city yesterday morning for the purpose of ..getting married, The ceremony was performed about 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Shortly after the marriage Fisher proceeded to celebrate the event by getting gloriously drunk, .while the bride of a. few hours was left at the depot. She wad apprised of her husband’s condition« 4about 5 o’clock and finally persuaded him to enter a carriage and they werf driven to a hotel together with a friend of Fisher, who was also drunk.. On account of the condition of the men they were refused quarters at the. hotel, but laterrfound.a room where it ,was,expected that the men would sober, up* while his wife took care of him, but he would not sober up and the. police were compelled to arrest him, and Mrs, Fisher was taken, to a hotel. „The bride had $2 and two tickets to Quincy In her pocketbook. She claimed that when her husband arrived In Han-. riibal he. had about $90 in his possession, and she expressed the Opinion ttiat he had been drugged and tobbed. .Persons who saw the auctions of the two during the aifternobn expressed great sympathy for the bride of an hour or two, who seemed to be greatly humiliated by the action of her husband.. ’
