She seated him in the kitchen and went; about her wtirk. She had occasion to be employed in the yard, and while there the tramp took hie opportunity of waiting upon himself, fie cleared the table, which was set for eup-Eer, of all it contained and .attempted is escape. But the old woman was too “fly” for him. She grubbed up a fork and started in pursuit. She overtook him before he had proceeded far, and, amid the booting and uproar of the my rind of children who had congregated, inarched him back to the house and detained him there until the arrival of her husband, who treated the tramp to a Enunptnous dose of “boot” and allowed him to depart.
