Crespi Sentenced. Judge Wallace, after denying a motion for a new trial made by Cesare Crespi, who was convicted of libeling G. Almagia, sentenced him to three months in the County Jail. His Honor said if he levied a fine Crespi’s friends would rally round the editor and pay it for him, so he would imprison the libeler, so as to ensure a genuine punishment.
