1 o Kewed Mate Who Beat HerDES MOINES, IA. (/p)-Mrs. Rella Donaldson, 22, and her divorced husband who was convict-I ed of beating her with a hammer were scheduled to be remarried today.The marriage was slated to take place before Lawrence Rooker, 37, starts to Fort Madison state penitentiary to begin serving a sentence for assault with intent to commit manslaughter.Rooker, Mitchellville packinghouse worker, was convicted on two assault counts in connection with the beating of his divorced wife and her companion, Miss Ila Watson January 28.Mrs. Donaldson pleaded with the court yesterday for leniency for Hooker. County Attorney Carroll O. Switzer said both Mrs. Donaldson, who was married and divorced again after leaving Rooker, and Miss Watson had written letters asking for leniency.
