WOULDN’T JAIL THE BOYSheriff Stanbro Wouldn’t Lock up a Child Accused of Being a Truant.Virgil Thomas, a little4 lad from lt;ireentown, who is charged with being a chronic truant and who was brought hero Thursday night to bo arraigned before Judge Eilliott, who was expected to commit the little fellow to the Plain-*reformatory, did not spendthe night in jail. The child cried slt; hard and begged so piteously that Sheriff Stanbro turned him over to hi.s mother, who had accompanied him to tin* city and tlt; Id her to keep him over night with her at the home of a relativein this eitv. The mother was at#/the court house with the lad this morning and both looked as though they had spent a tearful night. The guess is that Judge Elliott will send the bov back home with a good lecture after obtaining from him a promise to attend school.
