Page TwoSeven Others HospitalizedGirl/21/StillCriticalAfterThree-CarCrashOne of 10 persons Injured in • three-car crash near Her-mansville Tuesday remained in critical condition at a Green Bay, Wis., hospital this morning where she was taken Tuesday by ambulance plane.Seven other persons injured in the accident were reported recovering from injuries at hospitals in Marquette, Iron Mountain and Norway.Diane Cowley. 21, Norway, was listed in critical condition at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Green Bay, after undergoing emergency surgery for head and internal injuries.Miss Cowley was a passenger in a car driven by Ronald Warner, 21, Norway, which collided head-on about 1.5 miles west of Hermansville on U.S. 2 with a car driven by Ronald Pietran-tonio, 23. Iron Mountain. State Police said the two cars then were struck by a third car driven by Marvel Christian, 18, of Vulcan.Officers said the Pietrantonlocar was westbound and the cars driven by Warner and Miss , Christian were eastbound. The highway at the scene of the accident was snow covered and slippery, troopers said.Besides the drivers, injured in the accident were: Duane Steinbeck, 25, Iron Mountain, Kenneth Degenaer, 30, Norway,and Charles Bruette, 38, Nor-L. A. JohnsonDies TuesdayLawrence A. Johnson, 57, of Rle. 2, Stonington, died unexpectedly Tuesday.He was born Feb. 15, 1912 in Stonington and retired May 1, 1968 as a Dredge Captain on the Great Lakes.He Is survived by his wife, the former Lillian Grand holm, three daughters. Mrs. Johnway, all passengers in the Pio-trantonio car; Linda Sehuls, 18, Iron Mountain, James Mroz, 20, Norway, Miss Cowley, and Michael Tomasoski, 21, Norway, all passengers in the Warner car.Pietrantonio and Mroz weretransferred to St. Luke’s Hospital in Marquette where they were reported in satisfactory condition this morning.Steinbeck, Degenaer, Warner, Miss Sehuls and Miss Christian remained hospitalized today at Dickinson Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain, or Anderson Memorial Hospital, Norway. None of the victims was reported in serious condition, however.Bruette and Tomasoski were released from hospitals Tuesday after being treated for minor injuries.State Police said the accident, which happened about 10:30 a.m., is still under investigation.
