Probable Double Killing At Win=Chester.Tom Oldham, aged 26, was shot and instantly killed Saturday night at Winchester by Chief oi Police John C. Tarpy. and the latter was shot three j times by Oldham and probably mortally ! wounded.Tarpy, with his three deputies, went t Oldham’s house to arrest him on a . c large of burglary. When Tarpy ar.d a deputy entered Oldham’s room ar.d demanded his surrendei, the lafter irr-mediately fired, shooting three times. After Tarpy had fallen back on thebed he raised and shot Oldham throughthe head.Oldham leaves a widow. He was par-donedd last January, after serving ; part of a term for horse stealing. i
