To Prison For RapeRonald Cloke of Eldon, convicted in Wapello County District Court March 14, on a rape charge, was sentenced to 10 years in the state penitentiary at Fort Madison, this morning.Judge Arthur A. McGiverin of Ottumwa, handed down the sentence after hearing testimony of three persons indicating Cloke was in need of mental help.Upon the request of Cloke’s attorney, Howard Life of Oska-loosa, Wapello County Deputy Sheriff Blaine Box, Mrs. Ronald Cloke, who claims to be his wife, and George Cloke, took the stand and voiced the opinion the convicted man had a serious mental problem.Box recommended the maximum security ward at Mount Pleasant, saying he felt a lesser sentence would not give Cloke the help he needed. .Cloke was charged with the j offense by Mrs. Sylvia Rock, 69, ( also of Eldon.
