Promotion by Miami Beach Police Chief Hike Fox of •Jim Slegendorf to acting captain status should be “just what the visiting tourist needed.” Siegendorf is what is called a past master at “human relations in law enforcement. He's been on the Miami Beach force for 23 years. Fred Kohelln was upped from sergeant to lieutenant to fill the vacancy resulting from Siegendorf's promotion.
