IMPLICATE SIX MEN IN WHISKEY DEALFour other arrests followed .that of Henry I. Henderson, who was arrested here a week ago Saturday on the charge of having liquor in his possession. When arrested Henderson stated that he liad purchased the liquor from Frank Fennimnre for fifty cents with which Fennimore haci purchased a ticket to Lucerne. The police hurried to the Vandalia depot where Fennimore was arrested fust as the train was leaving the station.In his explanation Fenimore did not implicate-'Henderson but stated that Elijah Hipshire had sold him the liquor. Hipshire was arrested but at his trial last Thursday he was not found guiity. Henderson then changed his story and confessed that william Clarey had given him tho whiskey. Clarev was arrested and admitted that he gave Henderson the whiskey and stated that he had secured tho booze from William Starkey. Starkey, the fifth man to be implicated. was arrested Saturday and is out tinder a $60.0 bond to apear la police court Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock for trial. • In- his preliminary hearing Starkey pleaded not guilty. He has engaged the service of Attorney M. M. Wall and A. Cf. Jenkines for his trial Thursday.
