Mjis. Lovika Campbell, of Litchfield, is a widow who is tlronbled with a wild forni of insanity. About two weeks afgo she spent a day with a neighbor about 2 miles from her home. She started $rhome at nightfall, and losing her way,wandered about until 3 a. m.,'when she came out in tl^e road near the house of Obed VanDuzeii, where she sat down torest. A little dog* that was with her, made pome noise which alarmed Van.1, lt;who came out with a gun. He saw the dog, but asserts that he did not see thewoman, who was* in the rear. * He fired*and killed the dog, and succeeded in planting about 2d shot in her ankle.
