Richard Olson said the victim was Lori Mae Calhoun, 41, who had lived in “various locations” in Long Beach. No one has been arrested in the slaying, although investigators do have one possible suspect. But Steven Walters, 30, from whom Calhoun apparently had been planning to rent a room at 11700 215th St. in Lakewood, shot himself to death early Thursday when investigators went to his door to question him.Olson said there was nothing new on the case Friday.Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives have been investigating whether the slaying of Calhoun might be related to the strangulation slaying of Zuleima Valdez, 16, of Cypress, whose body was found Monday in Lakewood, less than two miles from Walters’ residence.“We have nothing to indicate there is a relationship,” Olson said.Bicyclists found Valdez’s body near aflood-contml channel
