The result is now a shortage of harass on farms. •1th most farmers of the township twinging back to the old reliable horse.Then- has been a standing reward of 1200 offered by the society w the arreet and conviction of person or persons stealing any belonging* of members of the organisation This reward not only applies to horse stealing, but elw? automobiles, chickens, implements farm produce; in fact, any article brlonging to a member. It la said the organisation played an important part in preventing all kinds of stealing This reward still stands Twenty years ago the Bethany Horse Thief and Detective Society picnic and dance was an neceeum looked forward to with much interest by residents of the Oodfrey vicinity. The entire townahip, together with the North Side, joined in the celebration. The inauguration of a president did not cause as much concern a* the hone thief picnic and dance. This feature of the society has been discontinued It is said that a large sum of money is tn the treasury. Just what action will take place at tonight’s meeting has many guessing as to the outcome.
