Our boys who were arrested a weel or so ago by Corporal Mayes and hi: squad of Insurrectos have for tin second time been placed on trial fo the same offense. This time at tin|[ historic little town of Puerto de Lum they were given a mock trial by £ judge and jury who were entirely antagonistic to our race. These mer have lost valuable time and have been put to consinerable expense but, not because they have infractec the law, but merely to give some low caste Mexican or renegade A-merican a chance to vent his spleen against the race. Thes boys have once before been tried and honorably acquited on this same charge. It is about time such perversion of the law should be stopped and every ignoramus Justice of the Peace fired from his job. All these boys want, is a fair deal at the hands of a fair and honest people. This last court was wholly Mexican and what A-merican ever got a square deal under such conditions? Prej udice is a ruling passion with the Mexican.
