Farmer Shoots Himself After Attempting to Kill Wife.Mt. Sterling, March. IS.—Crazed with drink after a polonged spree, Sam Carr, a well known farmer, cams home last night and began to assault his wife by beating her over the head with a beer bottle. He then set fire to the house and ran out of Ibe house flourishing a shotgun. Ho set the barn and outbuildings on Ere and when the neighbors, attracted by the flames, attempted to put them out, he kept them away with bis gun. He then attacked his wife again,, attempting to shoot her, but she broke away from him. Then running out into the yard Carr blew his bains out with a revolver.Carv had been drinking heavily and was undoubtedly insane. His home and barn buildings were burned with much of the contents. His wife while not fatally injured, is prostrated by the injuries and -rivM
