Death from Abortion.Miss Mattie Foster, of the Charlestown District, died Sunday as is supposed from the effects of abortion. The girl’s parents reside at No. 4 Carter street, but she has been living ont for some time dome housework. She was last at the residence of Mr. Savage, 312 Main street, where her lover and alleged betrayer, John G. Nichols, boarded. It is said that the operation was psr* formed by lr. H. M. Leach two weeks ago Friday. Since that time the girl has been very ill vir4il the time of l?er death. During the last week she was attended by Dm. Davis, Holton and Lothrop,wbo were called in by the mother when she was apprised ol her daughter’s condition. Both Dr.JLeacli and Nichols were arrested, and Monday forenoon .arraigned in t he Bunker Hill District Court. Dr.|Leach was chanced with being principal and Nichols the accessory. Both pleaded not guilty. Young Nichols was represent ed by Lawyer Swift, Dr. Leach was not represented by counsel. The examination was postponeduntil Monday, the 20th met.
