Now In Virginia:Pol WithMurdersState Police at Hollidavsbure todav announced they have charged a man and a woman with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, robbery and violations of the uniform firearms act.The two are now being held in custody in Virginia. *At a press conference at 10:30 a.m. at Hollidaysburg, Lt. Raymond Miternowski, of the detective division, identified the suspects as Jeffrey Joseph Daugherty, 20, of 6169 Sylvia St., Taylor, Mich., and Bonnie Jean Heath, 41, of 4547 Henry Dr., Beaverton, Mich. They were charged Saturday night.The detective said the two are held in connection with a robbery on March 12 in Virginia, and are now charged in connection with the robbery of Jack's Quik Mart, Rte. 220 near BeJ.Iwood, on March 9, and the murder of Elizabeth L. Shank, 40, an employe of the Quik Mart. They are also charged with the robbery of the Shaw Oil Co., a Union 76 service station near Duncansville and the murder of George David Kar-ns, 18, the service station attendant, on March 11.Lt. Mitarnowski said that investigative developments during the week led members of the PSP criminal investigative staff into the states of Michigan and Virginia.He continued, “Last Friday it was learned that Daugherty and the Heath woman were in custody at the Prince George County Prison in Virginia. They were arrested by Virginia State Police at Appomattox, Va. for an armed robbery of a countrystore on March 12.”Three members of the criminal investigation unit at Hollidaysburg and an AltoonaCity detective are now' in Prince George Co. lodging warrants of arrest as detainers against the pair, the Lieutenant said.Mrs. Elizabeth Shank, 40, of Tipton, Tyrone RD 2. was found shot to death behind a counter at Jack's Quik Mart, along Rte. 220 near Bell wood/ the night of March 9, and George David Kams, 18; of Duncansville RD 2. was foundsimilarly slain at the Shaw Oil Co. service station between Newry and Duncansville. the afternoon of March 11. Both victims were slain by multiple bullet shots during apparent armed robberies.City police have joined the investigation because there is a suspicion that the slayings might be related totwoarmecrobberies in the city the sarm week. * .
