Charge Man In Slaying Of WomanA Chicago Heights man has been charged with the Sunday afternoon stabbing death of a 25-year-old city woman.The victim, Carrie Mae Collier, 25, of 1432 Portland avenue, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. James hospital.The woman had been stabbed once in the chest with a knife, according to police.BEING HELD without bond in Cook county jail on a murder charge is John Killim, 27, also of 1432 Portland avenue. Killim is scheduled to appear Tuesday for a preliminary hearing in the Midlothian branch of Circuit court.Police said the stabbing occurred at 1445 Portland avenue, the residence of the victim’s sister, Mrs. Sadie Kelly.Mrs. Kelly told police her sister and Killim had been arguing. She said that during the argument Killim threatened the victim.According to police, the woman was stabbed inside the residence. She then managed to walk out of the home to a parkway on Portland avenue where she collapsed.MRS. KELLY told police that the suspect fled from the home on foot after the stabbing.Killim was apprehended a short time later at the Illinois Central Gulf commuter station on Route 30 by Patrolman Albert Ondreka of Olympia Fields police.Chicago Heights police detectives said a knife was found in the suspect’s possession at the time of his arrest.
