$5,000Bail Set On Y outhRIDLEY TOWNSHIP- A 19-year-oM Upland youth, charged with stabbing four other teenagers March 11, was free on bail today while waiting for his case to go before the grand jury.Justice of the Peace Vincent A. Mallon ordered bail for Chester High Schol senior William Strain, of the 200 block of 12th Street, Upland, continued at $5,000 as he held the youth for court at a preliminary, hearing Saturday.Strain is charged with aggravated assault and battery with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.Hospitalized in the stabbings were Waller Gordun, 17, of 623 Maddock St.; James Shore, 1C,' of 621 Maddock St.; Fred Row!-es, 17, of 617 Folsom Ave.; and Michael Laird, 17, of 418 Gor-such St.All were reported in satisfactory condition today in Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park. They had been admitted in critical condition.The stabbings occurred near the intersection of Baltimore Ave. and MacDade Blvd., about 11:15 p.m.Police testified a fight which broke out and resulted in the stabbings followed an automobile incident in Springfield and a chase through several communities.
