OUB COUNTY BLANDISHED.I y IThe recent outrage in East Rockingham, •which was the occasion of lynching the ne-gress, Charlotte Harris, charged, and beyond question, (from all the evidence, before the Magistrates) the party who instiga*■ted tho burning of the ham of Henry E. 8ipe, has been the means of vituperative nfewspapeif/hhuBe on the whole people of Rockingham by a class of newspapers that ardently hate the South, and delight whenever they can to inflict a venomous sting. Correspondents, who it is believed, are at present/ making their home in Harrison-burgj and who delight in misrepresenting villifying our people, after having been kindly and courteously treated give a high coloring to this matter. Although their letters apparantly come from Richmond, we have good reason for supposing that paid writers exist here, who can veryreadily date their letters to suit their pur.• *poses. Whilst but a small portion of our county was enga ged in that deplorable affair, the whole people are blamed, and such shameful and abusive language is used, as we extract.
