The suddenness of their flight leads the officers to believe that McKinney was warned by friends by letter, and would have had time to have reached him at that date after the publication according to calculations a letter of the news regarding tho whereabouts of tho officers who were after him. Tho necessary papers arrived by mail from the City of Mexico on the following Tuesday, March 10th, cleveu day* after they had been first requested.The whereabouts of the fugitives could not he ascertained and not until the following Saturday was any.newsof them received, when Sheriff Collins was Informed that. McKinney, Jeffordsand a negro wore seen some fortymiles from Proitns on tho evening of the Sunday previous and that they had requested food at a small settlement there, showing that they had traveled last on the first day of their llight. Letters and descriptions were sent to many provinces but without avail. Sheriff Collins left Mexico last Monday evening.Ho states that there are evidences that hoth McKinney aud Jeffords spent some time at llandsburg and that the latter followed the former to Mexico. McKinney was In Nogalees the first pari; of November last, where lie remained some time and was introduced to tho sheriff and officials there under another name.Sheriff Collins has not abandoned hope of securing tho prisoners, but states that ho does not care to discuss his future plans In regard to tho matter.The Native Sons of the Golden Wear, are now making special preparations for the reception of the Grand Palor which meets heie from April 26th to May 1st. Both the Opera House and Armory Hall have been engaged, the first as a lodge meeting room, the second for the banquet and baP.The Grand Parlor will be attended by between 350 and 400 delegates, many of whom will bring their families with them, thus adding about three *hundreds more to the crowds to throng the city.The personnel of the Grand Parlorconsists of many of the leading citizens of the State, among, them being Governor Pardee, a number of judges of the Supreme and Superior Court* and many men promineint in the professional business and political life of tho State.
