SEVERAL SHOTS FIRED BY POLICE OFFICER AT FLEEING MANHundreds of pedestrians I and bicyclists on their way home from work rushed to cover late yesterday afternoon as a police officer fired a fusilade of shots at a fleeing man.According to an incomplete police report, a Duval street storekeeper called attention to a man who was acting suspiciously in his place of business.Officer Chester Anti rush-j ed in pursuit of the man,; who fled down Smith Lane to Whitehead street. The policeman ordered him to stop and when he refused, fired several shots at him.People in the vicinity of I the shooting scurried to safety in doorways and in stores. No one was injured.
