Alleged cartel ringleader Osiel Cardenas Guillen was arrested Friday by Mexican soldiers after a gunbattle that left one dead and three hurt.The Mexican attorney general’s office released an official account Monday of Cardenas’ capture. Five people were arrested including two former army officers, officials said.The search for more cartel members includes Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey, the officials said.“During the operation by Mexican Army soldiers and Mexican Attorney General’s Office special agents in Matamoros, they arrested first three people, including Cardenas Guillen,” said Elizabeth Juarez, a spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office in Mexico City. “The Cardenas arrest was made at 9:47.
