W. J. M'GUIREWill Be Tried For the Murderof Samuel G. Rees.ki ' ' • 'tTbe case of William J. McGuire, a well known Dauphio-street merchant, charged with the murder ofhis brother-in-law, Samuel G. Rees, is set for a hearing Monday mornirg at 10 o’clock in the city court. The case promises to be anintertsting one from the fact that bath parties are well known and that many witnesses have been summoned. The state will be represented by the solicitor, lion. J. H. Webb, who will be assisted by that well known criminal lawyer, Hon. E. M. Robinson.MrGuire has secured for his counsel the law lirm of R. II. and N. R. Clarke, who will no doubt make an able and hard light in his behalf.The crime with which McGuireis charged was committed ou Saturday afternoon, September 2, 1809. At the preliminary hearing McGuire was sent to jail without the benefit of bail. The crime was committed in McGuire’s store andwas about the adjustment of some legal matter.
