Pink pillow slip bandite\ holds up Cedar Barn|J A man armed with a rifle and wearing a pink pillow slip over 1 his head held up the Cedar Barn r Saturday evening shortly after 9• p.m. Walking over to the bar first, he pointed the gun at■J Lloyd Ayling. the owner, who l was tending bar. With the gun e just a foot from Ayling’s c stomach, he said: “Give it to• me,’’; “What do you mean?” asked 3 Ayling.The money, all of it.‘ Ayling told investigators that• ho turned, opened the cash- register, scooped out ap-1 proximately S310 in currency \ and handed it to the gunman 1 who rifled through it and stuck 1 if in his left hip pocket.THE ROBBER then walked into the dining room area, said:- “I hate to do this 1o you tax-payers” and ordered them at gun point to empty their wallets. Among those who1 complied was Debbie Smith of; Sacramento who removed some1$43 from her purse and handed it to her husband Ken, who tossed it on the table next to the bandit. Drawled he as he scooped up the money: “You’re a good oT boy.”Kenneth Baker of Sacramento, who was standing when told to empty his wallet, also complied, putting papers, cash and credit cards on the table in front of him. But the gunman seemed hesitant about approaching a standing man or was satisfied with the take. He also ignored two others who had taken out their wallets. He turned and walked out. saying as he passed through the door: “If anybody sticks their head out. I'll blow it off.” ALTHOUGH having just undergone a frightening ordeal, one of the customers had enough nerve to peek through the front door. She got a glimpse of the man getting into a late 60's model light colored two-door sedan which had beenparked in the shadows west of the Cedar Barn.A CAR MATCHING the description was slopped on US5U west of Cambridge drive. Its driver matched the general description of the gunman, and one of the passengers had a smalt feather in his hair. All three denied any knowledge of the hold-up and after being taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning, fingerprinting and identification. the two passengers were released.
