breefatalwell-:ame. B.rd ifac-anddish-caeryieter,The absence of John Lydon from his homo near the south line of Lincoln county, was noticed by hia neighbors about the 10th of February. A few days afterward, Dr. 8ei-ber's house wae burned, and somedays ago, M/. W. T. Eubank wasdown in Missouri, near Pleasant Hill, where he learned ot a Mr. Eaton being there with five car-loads of cattle, which he sold for cash, and atwhile ooce began a profligate throwingload acted o the e the s lay rm of rheel,, had d wasm the parts rightoffice called iately I theie «uThirdI washopesTJ.—about of the money, so much so that it was a subject of remarks, and was told of to Mr. Eubank, who, upon his return to Lincoln Center, learned of Mr. John Lydon’a continued absence, which was very unusual. Suspicion thst all was not as it should be, regarding the matter, caused Mr. E. P. Grubb, Hon. L. Schermer-horn, Mr. T. Walls and Mr. Bishop, to go te Mr. Lyden's home, to sec what discoveries could be made. An right I examination of the well, which had k lip*; been recently partially filled up, and work- then carefully covered with a pile of stones, which were at hand, revealed the cause of the prolonged absence ; for below the rubbish thrown into the well, was found the body of John Lyden, shot through the lungs. The party at once arrested a William Eaton, who was up in the grove chopping wood for Lyden, and whcu asked if he had covered the well, raid he had not, but when confronted with the clotted blood found about the well, turned ghastly pale. It is believed that Eaton has an accomplice in a eon about 20 years old, and powibjy others.Dr. L. F. Bryant, coroner of Lincoln county, was'sent for, and with the assistance of the above named gentlemen, lifted the body from the well, and conveyed it to the Com t House in Lincolu Center, and on yesterday an examination was being made into what we think will prove to ba one of the most cold-blooded murders ever perpetrated in the West. Mr. LydcuV many friends stand aghast, horrified at the developments opening before them.—Ellsworth Reporter, Kas.I Sun-\ hap-»t of fulls h alsorhere-owinglarch.trliestThebe oc-2d of th of s ;*re,17612d of ■train
