LYNN.Unlicensed Spirits.—Considerable excitement was created, on Saturday evening, by the arrest of Thomas V/* Lincoln, S. W. Gordon anil J. E. Warner, all of Charlestown, for attempting to give a spiritual manifestation show without a license. At least that was the charge in the warrant upon which they were arrested, but the real cause of their arrest was an attempt to defraud the people by charging thirty-five cents admission, when there tvas no mention of any price of admission on the bills, and after receiving forty dollars attempting to make off without giving any show. They tried the same game In Newbury port. not long ago, and were success!ul, but the Lynn polto* were too smart for them, and just as Lincoln, the one who took the money, was leaving the hall he was arrested by Officer Dudley, and the other two were taken by Officers Sloper and Manioc. All three were locked up, and this morning will be ar raigned in the Police Court.A Hard Sentence.—In the Police Court, Saturday, was a very peculiar case. Hermann Brackett, an old man, was charged with obtaining a few dollars’ worth of goods of Frazier Son, upon the pretence that his (Brackett’s) eon sent him. The son denied it, and the old man was sentenced to live mouths in the House of Correction at Ipswich, though the son expressed a willingness to pay for the goods.The Crispins,—At their meeting, next Thursday evening, the shoemakers of Lynn will discuss the question of unions and Crispin organizations and strikes, and their effect upon tne workingmen.
