8-2—PRE5S-7ELERAMlong Buch (Gal If.), Mon*, Marsh-\6t 3933Officer Slays Fleeing Alien Near AnaheimANAHEIM—A Mexican alien was shot and killed early Sunday by a police officer who chased him and his companion into an orange grove after their car upset while fleeing from officers. iJuan Diaz Pena, 30, of 1114 Parry St., died instantly with a .38-caliber slug in his chest as he fled into the grove at the northeast corner of Harvard Ave. and Orangethorpe Blvd., between Ana-hein and Fullerton.Police Officer Everill Heaton fired the shot which killed Pena, after the victim and his companion fled from Officer Heaton and his buddy, Oilieer Clarence Johnson.The chase began about 1:45 a. m. Sunday at Los Angeles and Center Sts. in downtown Anaheim. The officers pulled the fleeing car to the curb at Los Angeles St. and La Palma Ave. after a one-mile chase.As the police alighted from their prowl car. the suspects' car roared away and the chase resumed until the fleeing car crashed in the grove after striking a dip while traveling at an estimated speed of SO miles an hour.Tn the car police said they found marijuana. They impounded the vehicle owned by Mrs. Josephine Rivera of Fullerton.Police claimed that they believe her husband, Victor Rivera, was driver of the car. but he has not been captured.C
