Mother charged with manslaughterA 28-year-old Ridgeville district mother is to appear in Morris magistrate's ’ court* today (Wednesday) on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of her 18-month-old daughter Karen March 7.Mary Hutt was released from custody last week after she posted a $5,000 surety following a brief appearance before Magistrate John J. Enns in provincial magistrate s court.Her case was later remanded to Morris by Magistrate Enns.Mrs Hutt’s daughter died last Tuesday in Winnipeg Children's Hospital. The child had been taken to the Winnipeg hospital with several broken bones and internal injuries following her transfer from hospital in St. Pierre.The case will be heard before Magistrate R. L. Kopstein.
