Severe Sentences Citedas New Trials OrderedWASHINGTON (AP) - TheSupreme Court Monday ordered a new trial for four Colorado residents who were given “undeniably severe sentences on jury tampering charges.Eugene Smaldone was s e n-itenced to 35 years and $11 .(XX) fine; Clyde Smaldone was sentenced to 60 years and $24,000 I fine; William Calvaresi and Jerry Benallo got 15 years and $5,. 000 fines each. They were sentenced in U. S. District Court in Denver.The charges grew out of a criminal tax case.
