LENOIR — Two brothers facecharges of of sexually abusing a I total of nine boys and girls over I the past 20 years.Douglas Wayne Townsend I and Alvin Morris Townsend, both of Lenoir, are charged with molesting family members, acquaintances and family friends who now range in age from 4 to26, said Caldwell Sheriff s OfficeCapt Danny BarlowPolice began investigating the case Jan 29 when the parents of •a Caldwell County girl filed a complaint with the Department of Social Servi • Barlow said Eight more people have since came forward with allegations.The brothers were charged Tuesday night and made their first court appearance Thursday. They were being held at the Caldwell County jail.Investigators believe the brothers acted independently, Harlow said.
