Waterloo Man Loses Eye to Bandit's Bullet\\ YITRLOO (AP) - A Water-loo service station attendant has lost his right eye to a bandit who, he says, tied him up with an electric cord, robbed him of $30, then shot him in the temple.Mark Covington, 24, of Cedar Falls, was reported in good condition at I niversity Hospitals in Iowa City Thursday after surgery to remove the bullet from his cheek.Covington told police the bandit drove up in a car and after robbing him of $30, told Covington he would have to tie him up.Covington said he went into a back room with the man and gave him β€˜he cords to an electric coffee maker to use as a rope.He said the gunman tied him, then slugged him on the head. After a short wait, he told police, the bandit felt his pulse, then fired a shot into his temple.Doctors said the bullet passed behind Covington's eye and lodged in his cheek.
