Schipper was handed over to federal authorities Saturday to face their charges of attempted bank rcibbery.^ Foley was returned to the State Reformatory at Anamosa to serve 2 10-year sentences concurrently!Attron ^Saturday The actions took place Saturday in the courthouse at Anamosa, winding up a long man-hurit Staged by the county sheriff in cooperation with city, state and federal authorities. Schipper and TOley were arrested a week ago Wednesday following an automobile accident.Confessions signed by the men solved a string of robberies in eleven eastern Iowa communities besides the attempted robbery of the Baldwin bank last November.Judge Heiserrrran -Foley and Schipper were brought before District Judge J. E. Heiser-man last Saturday morning. Two breaking and entering charges were filed against -Schipper by County Attorney James Reniley last week. Judge Heiserman ruled, though, that Schipper should be turned over to the Federal Bureau•of Investigation authorities for prosecution on the more serious charge of attempted bank robbery. •Charges filed against Foley werea breaking and entering charge and a larceny charge; both involved the Quality Cafe brcakin in Ana-: mosa.To Cedar RapidsSchipper was taken to Cedar Rapids until his case will be heard in federal courts.Foley was returned to the reformatory from where he had been paroled several years ago after serving time on an embezzlement charge.
