The. case, which has lasted four days, and created intense interest, went to the jury at 7 :o0 in the evening and it was nearly midnight when they announced that they had rcivched a verdict. Judge Douglas was at once summoned, the prisoner was brought in and the verdict of guilty handed iu. Mrs. Shall betrayed absolutely no emotion, but sat biting her finger nails, as she has done all through the trial.General Entrekiu, her attorney, at once asked for a new trial. The penalty is from one to twenty years in the penitentiary and this is the first woman ever convicted of a penitentiary offense iu Ross county. The verdict meets with general approval.
