Woman, 21, slain in NorwalkJudith Skiver High school photoBy ED RICHTERStaff WriterNORWALK - Norwalk police are searching for a stolen car which may be involved in the execution-style murder of a 21-year-old Norwalk Township woman late Friday night at Memorial Lake Park.Police identified Judith Skiver, 21, 4669 En Road, Norwalk, as the woman who was found dead in Shelter K near Norwalk’s Upper Reservoir, just to the right of the spillway, after midnight Friday.Police were called about 10 p.m. by two unidentified hunters in the area whoheard a shot and discovered her slumped over a picnic bench. The hunters were later questioned by police.Norwalk police are searching for a maroon or burgundy 1978 Monte Carlo with a white top, with Ohio license plates, which was reported stolen sometime Friday by the vehicle’s owner. Police declined to release the name of the owner or specifically why they are looking for the car.Huron County Coroner William Holman said the woman had been sitting on the bench when she was shot at point-blank range on the top of her head. He said no exit wound was found during hisinitial investigation early Saturday morning. He estimated that she died between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Friday.The body was taken to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s office for an autopsy about 4 a.m. Saturday. The results are not expected until Wednesday.Holman said she had fallen to the left and her head was hanging over the bench. No blood was found on the picnic table, but police found blood on the shelter floor and on the bench. Ms. Skiver was wearing a denim jacket, blouse, T-shirt, blue jeans and white leather tennis shoes when she was discovered by police.Holman said there was no marks or indications of other violence and said the victim’s make-up was in still in place. He said she had no gloves and that her jewelry was still on her person, which he believes could rule out robbery as a motive.There was no wallet or any identification on the body, but police would not say how the body was identified.“There was no sign of a struggle,” Holman said. “Nothing was messed up, not even the leaves were disturbed around there.
