Wound Up the February Term Saturday Morning, with the Trial and Verdicts In the Cases of Buck and RobertBiggs, Charged With Manslaughter.Complete Court Proceedings.After three weeks of arduous work, the February term of the Carter Circuit Court became a natter of history only last Saturday.The case of Robert Biggs was called on the fourth day of the term, and the defendants answered not ready, pleading with the Court that they could not get a fair trial before a jury from this county, and a venire of 100 men was summoned from Bovd countyto try this case, and it w«s set for the thirteenth day of the term. The casewas called and, after tie selection of a jury from the venire, the trial was entered into, and, after a wearisome trial, the jury returned a verdict of guilty of voluntary manslaughter and fixed his punishment at from five to ten years in the State Reformatory.The case against Buck Biggs was then called, and from another special venire of one hundred men from Boyd county, a jury was selected of the following personnel: C. H. Halfords, J. C. Crump, John Hogsten, Jerry Johnson, J. J. Lynn, Scott Vaneth, Robert Owens, S. M. Credor, Sam Riddle, Guy Fannin, J. C. Williams, A. Heneman. The verdict returned was not guilty, on the grounds of thedefense of his hrother.
