Attacked af-Upper Sandusky After Beating Suspect.Upper Sandusky, O., March. 11.— Two Rose law detectives, Jerome Hostetter and Frank Fling:, are in danger of lynching here. Crowds swarm the streets and the detectives have been advised to leave the city to avoid injury. They attempted to seareb the suit case of Albert Smith, whom the detectives accused of bootlegging, Smith resisted and was bad- j ly beaten up. The detectives were j arrested for assault with intent to j kill and a mob of several hundred, formed, which atraeked them as they were taken to police court. One ofthem, was struck in the face and immediately drew a revolver, which caused the mob to fall back. jThey were bound over to the grand s jury, gave bail and were released. The I mob followed them to their hotel and waa kept at bay by the detectives’ revolvers.
