He was, so far as known, under no financial embarrassment. He owns a goo 1 farm of about one hundred acres, three miles south of Fountaintown, Shelby county, and was recently offered $3,600 for it and refused the offer. He is thought to have been entirely free from debt except that his name was on a joint note for $400. The $400 he was said to have had with him when last seenwas intended to be used in payment» *of the note. It is not known however, why he should have broughtthe mouev to the citv with him for the note wap in Shelby county. He left home Thursday morning, saying »hat he should probably come to Indianapolis bexore returning. He is a widower, with two daughters about grown.
