Sentencing for Tezak postponedFormer Will County CoronerRobert Tezak was supposed to besentenced on federal arson chargesFriday, but sentencing was postponed.One member of Tezak’s defenseteam, Steven Popuch, said the delay came about because a probation report needed for sentencing is incomplete.A new sentencing date could not • be confirmed.The wealthy Tezak was once a kingpin in Will County Republican circles. In October, he pleaded guilty to charges that he hired others to torch a bowling alley he owned in order to collect insurance money and that he threatened to kill his ex-lover, who also is his former daughter-in-law, if she testified against him in court.The maximum penalty faced by Tezak is 20 years in prison, $750,000 in fines, a term of supervised release and any restitution ordered by the court.
