W, I* Breece was president of the Farmer’s Alliance in Lincoln county, and the testimony was con* elusive that he endeavored to convert that institution into a regulator band for the pur* pose of visiting summary punishment on obnoxious persons, All of the parties fm*in the outrage were members of the Farmer’s Alliance, but it was clearly shownthat the large majority of the members ofthat institution did not endorse the regulator scheme. Although there were three or fourof the Farmer’s Alliance on the jury, the two Breece’* and McBride were convicted of the conspiracy. They willnext he tried for an assault to murder Col* ley and will no doubt he convicted, W, Breece, while on the stand as a witness, imilted under cross-examination that he tthe author of certain articles published tha Nogal Nuggctt, shortly after the she ing, charging Captain Brandon Kirby wj having procured the shooting of Coll The Jiuggvtt ia the organ of the Allkuc* Lincoln county, and ha* recently been i gaged in charging alt sorts of crimes up the cattle men of that county. It transpires that this was hut a blind to cover the criminality of the friends and associates of the N uggett man. The result of this trialwill have a wholesome effect in county, and will doubtless put a stop to j lawless organizations. The prosecution was concluded by Col. A. J. Fountain and JohnJ. Cockrell, tL W. Frit-hard of Las Vegas, and Isaac Frederick of Lincoln appeared fm the defense.
