On last Thursday morning he went to Henry Gates’, near Carrollton, in Hancock county, and borrowed $400, giving a joint note signed by himself ai.d Wrn. Higdon. Mr Higdon was to receive half of the money. After receiving the money he left, taking the road towards home. The last seen of him ♦ *was on the road to Greenfield, which*was in contrary direction to his home. Since that day nothing has been seen or heard of him. His familv and■friends are in great trouble over th£matter, fearing that he has been foullydealt with. The matter is creating considerable excitement hereabouts.
