MILWAUKEE—(U.PJ— Adrian L. iDudley, 49, former prisoner in the federal penitentiary at Atlanta, Ga., was charged with trying to | swindle a 66-year-old retired brewery employe out of $10,000— most of his life savings. iPolice sought Douglas Raymond, who fled in a car while Dudley was being arrested, on a charge of being Dudley’s accomplice. Both men have long police records in several cities.Met in FloridaThe retired brewery worker, Ernst Dankwardt, told police he met Dudley while on vacation in Florida and the ex-convict told him about a “sure thing” on a horse race. Dankwardt said he returned here with Dudley and Raymond to withdraw his life savings—$12,300.Dankwardt said Dudley and Raymond suggested he put up $10,000, they would add $10,000 each and the three would split the expected $100,000 profit.Detectives on JobDetectives Harry Cronce and Joseph Hayward became suspicious when they saw Dankwardt withdraw $5,000 in bills and cash in $7,480 worth of bonds at banks.
