RoundupPolice seize 31 grams of drugsBy The TelegramA routine traffic stop led to the arrest of three southwest Kansas residents and the seizure of about 31 grams of various drugs, police said MondayShortly after 2 a.m. Sunday officers stopped a Pontiac Grand Am in the 2500 block of East Spruce Street for numerous traffic infractions, said Garden City police Capt. Mike Utz.Utz said the driver, Jennifer Russell, 19, Holcomb, and two passengers, Tommy Lane, 31, Lakin, and Craig Rodby, 19, 2106 Campus Drive, Apt. 4, did not cooperate with police. During the stop, an officer observed Rodby with his hand on a switchblade and two other knives within his reach, Utz said.After more officers arrived, all three occupants exited the vehicle. The Finney County Sheriffs Office K-9 Unit responded and found 10.5 grams of methampheta-mine, 1.5 grams of cocaine,19 grams of marijuana, four Darvocet pills (painkillers) and one methadose pill with a combined street value of $1,300. Officers also seized $269.Russell was arrested on allegations of possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a controlled drug.Lane was arrested on allegations of possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
