Attempt Made to Rob the Office of the Pencaylraria Railroad Co.A thief or thieves last night “jimmied” the front door of Monroe Brothers grocery and rifled the cashregister the drawer of which had been left standing open, of about$4.60 in cash. As far as known none of the stock was touched. The door of store was literally forced open, locks, hinges and bolts being broken. It is not known whether the robbery took place before or after midnight. The theft has been reported to the police.At about the hour of the alarm of.fire last night an attempt was made to enter the office of the Pennsylvania passenger station by breakingone of the windows. Nightwatch-man John Kloss frightened the rob-bere away, but was unable to get tosee them, as they fled before he could reach the outside of the building. There ie a belief that balked of their work at the station, thesame robbers may have been the ones who entered the Monroe Bros.grocery.
