Child rapist admits guiltBy MONTY TAYLOEThe Winchester StarWINCHESTER—A city man has pleaded guilty in Winchester Circuit Court to the rape of two girls aged 9 and 13* Dontrell Cook, 20, was convicted Friday on charges of forcible sodomy, forcible rape, raping a victim under 13, and two counts of sodomy against a victim under 13,He will be sentenced next month, and faces 10 to 45 years in prison.‘These were very egregious offenses, and Pm hoping the judge will choose to up-sentence him,” said Winchester Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Jason Caccamo, explaining his desire for Cook to receive the maximum sentence,The charges stem from an incident last year when Cook, who is homeless, was staying in the same residence as his two victims.According to Caccamo, Cook forced both girls to perform multiple sex acts with him,When Cook was occupied with one girl, he made the other stay in the room with them, the prosecutor said. “Theto get away numerous times.”Cook’s crimes came to light after the younger girl told an older sister about the incidents. When po-Dontrell Cook lice came to interview the 9-year-old victim, they learned the 13-year-old had been abused as well.After he was arrested, Cook reportedly confessed to having sex with the minors, but not raping them.On Friday, he pleaded guilty to the five charges as part of an agreement between Caccamo and the defendant’s attorney Mark Vann,Before the agreement, Cook had been charged with 12 feionies.
