Six persons have been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated by area law enforcement authorities since late Friday Arrested by Alabama State Troopers were Samuel Covington, 58, Lonnie L. Williams, 27, William Henry Turner, 33, David W. Ledbetter, 18, and Felipe Villanueva, 18. Addresses for the five men were not available Williams and Covington were additionally charged with driving while license revoked and Turner was charged with driving without a license. Court date for the five men is Tuesday Anniston police arrested Crawford E. Malone, 51, of 129 W. 22nd St., Anniston. Malone was additionally charged with driving while license revoked. His court date is Monday. Man charged with laundry break-in Robert E. Christopher, age and address unavailable, was arrested by Anniston police Friday and charged with burglary and forgery in connection with a break-in at Anniston Laundry Christopher, a former employe of the laundry, was charged on a warrant signed by Charles Wilson. Wilson told police Christopher broke into the laundry Feb. 26 and took several blank checks on Wilson's account and several pairs of blue jeans Police reports stated Christopher cashed one of the checks at an Anniston bank in the amount of $150. Several pairs of the jeans were found in Christopher's car, according to police reports. Christopher's court date is Wednesday Unlicensed alcohol sale charged Linwood Martin, owner of Maverick Bait Shop in Ohatchee, was arrested by Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC) agents and charged with selling alcoholic beverages without a license ABC agents, assisted by agents of the Calhoun County Take Away Street Crime (TASC) force,raided Martin's shop Friday afternoon and confiscated 75 cases of beer and 50 pints of bonded liquor, according to police reports A court date for Martin, age unavailable, of Ohatchee, Rt 1, has not been set Police arrest burglary suspect Anniston police have arrested Lloyd David Barton Jr., 28, address unavailable, and charged him with the Thursday afternoon burglary of an Anniston residence According to police reports, a neighbor identified a truck belonging to Barton as one he saw at the home of Joan Freeman shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday. A color television, a stereo and speakers were stolen in the burglary, according to reports. Barton was also seen trading the items reported stolen Thursday afternoon, police said Barton's bond has been set at $3,000. His court date is Wednesday Television, stereo thefts told Barry Freeman of Anniston, Rt. 4, reported that a thief broke into his home Friday afternoon and took a television, a stereo and turntable and a tape player, according to police reports. An investigation into the burglary is in progress. Freeman estimated the value of the items taken at $1,000 J ville man charged with assault James Charles Wright, age unavailable, of Jacksonville, Rt. 3, has been arrested by Anniston police and charged with assault with intent to murder Wright was arrested Friday on a warrant signed by William Rice, who charged that Wright cut him in the abdomen, legs and neck with a knife The incident is alleged to have occurred at Adelaide Mills Fed. 27 Wright has been released from jail on $5,000 bond. Anniston; Thomas Walter Phair 16, of 1430 Clairmont Drive. Weaver and Edward Lee White, 23, of 115 Parker Blvd., Weaver Johnson, Ledbetter, Phair and White were bound over on the multiple charges of burglary, grand larceny and buying. receiving or concealing stolen property.
