I FOUGHT WITH AXES.( _Battle Waged by Italian Construction Gang Who Wanted to Quit Work.Parkersburg, W. Va,, March B.—Fourforemen on the construction work of the extension of the Little Kanawha railway,part of the Gould system, assisted by a constable, suppressed a riot among thirty Italian laborers near Burning .Spring* last night. The Italians wanted to leave because the work was delayed on account of high water. They were told they could not leave until they had worked out their railroad fare, which had been paid from Chicago. A battle ensued with *Mi» clubs and revolver*. One Italian had an arm cut off and four are said to have been fatally hurt. They are btdng cared for at the home of an American. After the fight twenty-five Italians escaped to the woods and hav*' not been captured, although warrant* are out for their arrest.
