The Kuschmen Murder Case.* *There are no new developments in the Kuschmann murder case with the exception of the coupling together of this crime and another.A week ago last night the barn’ of Wm. McLaughlin, another Black Hawk township farmer, was set fire to and burned to the ground. The object in , this case was robbery. When the Me-| Laughlin family left the house to lend j their assistance in extinguishing the j flames, a man went through the house j searching for quite an amount of money Mr. McLaughlin was reported to have concealed in a certain place. Fortunately the money had been placed in a Rock Island savings bank the day before and the thief got nothing for his fiendish efforts.The people of Black Hawk township are inclined to believe that both crimes, the barn burning and the cold blooded murder, were done by the same hand.The advisability of offering a reward for the detection and apprehension of the murderer of. Fred Kuschmann was informally discussed in the board of supervisors on Wednesday afternoon, and a suitable resolution will probably be adopted before the hoard adjourns.State’s Attorney Searle and Constable Eckhart were out in Black Hawk township yesterday investigating the Kuschmann murder. r Fresh rumors are rife and something sensational may develop in this mysterious case at an early date.
