Young ParentsGive Boy UpFor AdoptionLOVINGTON-- JakeShope, four year old son of Mr. arid Mrs. George Shope of Lovington, was given up for adoption in District Court Monday. It was a final order before placing the child for adoption. He has been in the care of the County Welfare Department.F3oth Mr. arid Mrs. Shope have been patients at Las Vegas Mental Institution and since their marriage, and release from the institution, have been living from payments from the State Welfare Dept.Their first child was taken from them at birth, and adopted out. When the second child was born, Reese Greaves of Lovington, former Peace Justice, was made guardian for the couple and looked after them. They were allowed to keep this baby. She underwent surgery so she would not have more children.Recently Shope was arrested for molesting a child and while there has been no disposition of the case, he is free on his own recog-nance, and undergoing examination by Dr. Hilton Gil-lett in Lovington.Both the father and mother told the judge they thought it would be better for the boy to be adopted out.
