Absences of Defense WitnessesCause of DelayAnother continuance was granted C. J. Watson, Oletha farmer, when his case was called in 87th district court Monday. Watson is under five years suspended sentence upon conviction of manslaughter in connection with the slaying of Oliver Maiden, his tenant. The present case grew out of the same shooting, in which M. J. Maiden, father of the slain boy, lost his leg.Absence of defense witnesses was given as the cause of the delay. Inthe present case Watson is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
